Mutual Fund Industry Awards turn 25

Fund Intelligence now accepting nominations

This year, Fund Intelligence is marking the 25th anniversary of its Mutual Fund Industry Awards, slated to take place April 12 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.

The awards are now accepting nominations, including several legacy categories dedicated to the fund oversight and governance communities, including:

  • Trustee of the year
  • Small board trustee of the year
  • Independent counsel
  • Newcomer director
  • Lifetime achievement

Over the 25 years since the awards’ inception, the fund industry has evolved significantly, weathering major shifts in regulation and distribution, investor trends, and market-changing events such as the market-timing scandals of the early 2000s, and, more recently, the global financial crisis of 2008.

The awards have attempted to evolve right along with the market with inclusion of new categories, recognition of new market channels, and reflection of the industry’s evolving values more broadly.

For example, the 2018 awards will include an expanded slate of categories recognizing the top performers and innovators in the growing ETF market. Other recent changes include the addition of the Newcomer Director of the Year category two years ago, as well as including both individuals as well as firms in the prestigious Hall of Fame.

Nominations are due Feb. 9. For more information about the event, please click here, or email Fund Directions editor Marissa Capodanno.
