Meet the team

Paul McMillan
Managing editor

Before joining Fund Intelligence in June 2018, Paul McMillan was head of content across HFM Global, Pageant Media’s hedge fund titles based out of London, New York and Hong Kong. Prior to HFM, Paul was group editor at leading UK financial title Money Marketing and associated brands for five years. He has won several media awards, including personal finance journalist of the year and online personal finance article of the year.

Peter Rawlings
Compliance editor

Peter Rawlings has covered mutual fund and broker-dealer compliance and regulation for Compliance Reporter since 2013. Prior to that he was an editorial intern for Bloomberg News, where he covered the US corporate bond and credit default swap markets. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University.

Jason Bisnoff
Reporter

Jason joined Pageant Media in 2016 and covers financial and regulatory compliance. Prior to working with the Fund Intelligence Group on Compliance Reporter, he covered the automotive industry for the New York Daily News and fulfilled editorial assistant duties at the International New York Times in Paris. He holds a master's degree in journalism from the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism.

Marissa Capodanno

Marissa Capodanno is the deputy head of content for the Fund Intelligence Group. She also edits FI's governance title, Fund Directions, covering issues relevant to mutual fund boards of directors. Prior to joining the team in June 2015, she wrote about asset-backed securities, peer-to-peer lending, and other consumer and commercial financing at Debtwire, part of the Mergermarket Group, and at Total Securitization, a Euromoney Institutional Investor publication. She earned a master’s degree in journalism from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish literature from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ben Sheng

Ben is a reporter for Fund Directions, where he covers mutual fund governance and regulatory issues from a board perspective. Prior to joining Fund Directions in 2018, he worked in financial public relations at Intermarket Communications. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University, where he wrote and edited for the Columbia Daily Spectator.

Noah Zuss
Reporter

Noah Zuss is the defined contribution reporter for Fund Action. He covers several DC and DCIO asset managers and writes on all things retirement and investing. Noah joined Fund Intelligence Group in April 2017 after reporting on retirement, investing and finance as both a full-time and a freelance reporter with several publications.

Julie Mansmann
Senior reporter

Julie Mansmann is a senior reporter covering mutual fund and exchange-traded fund product development, marketing and sales strategy. Prior to joining Fund Intelligence in 2017, she was the editor of several titles of the Herald Community Newspapers, where she covered politics, crime, education, business and the arts on Long Island. Her work has been recognized by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, the New York Press Association and the Press Club of Long Island.

Dervedia Thomas
Fund Action editor

Dervedia is the editor of Fund Action and has covered mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds and defined contribution plans for the publication since 2012. Dervedia began her career as a financial reporter at Euromoney Institutional Investor five years ago. She also holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from South Carolina State University. Dervedia is the editor of Fund Action and has covered mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds and defined contribution plans for the publication since 2012 when it was run out of Euromoney Institutional Investor.
