Meet the team

Paul McMillan
Managing Editor

Before joining Fund Intelligence in June 2018, Paul McMillan was head of content across HFM Global, Pageant Media’s hedge fund titles based out of London, New York and Hong Kong. Prior to HFM, Paul was group editor at leading UK financial title Money Marketing and associated brands for five years. He has won several media awards, including personal finance journalist of the year and online personal finance article of the year.

Ben Sheng
Reporter

Ben is a reporter for Fund Directions, where he covers mutual fund governance and regulatory issues from a board perspective. Prior to joining Fund Directions in 2018, he worked in financial public relations at Intermarket Communications. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University, where he wrote and edited for the Columbia Daily Spectator.

Peter Rawlings
Compliance Editor

Peter Rawlings has covered fund compliance and regulation for Fund Intelligence since 2013. Prior to that he was an editorial intern for Bloomberg News, where he covered the US corporate bond and credit default swap markets. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University.

David Isenberg
Compliance Reporter

David Isenberg joined Fund Intelligence in January 2019 covering compliance, regulation, and litigation. Prior to his role at Pageant Media’s New York office, David interned at Thompson Reuters’ Practical Law, where he wrote about retirement compliance and litigation. David received his juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law in May of 2018, where he edited for the Media, Entertainment, and Intellectual Property Law Journal. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Julie Mansmann
Sales & Marketing Editor

Julie Mansmann is the editor of Fund Action, heading mutual fund and exchange-traded fund product development, marketing and sales strategy coverage. Prior to joining Fund Intelligence in 2017, she was the editor of several titles of the Herald Community Newspapers, where she covered politics, crime, education, business and the arts on Long Island. Her work has been recognized by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, the New York Press Association and the Press Club of Long Island.

James Connington
Distribution Editor

James Connington joined Fund Intelligence as Distribution Editor in 2018, where he heads up coverage of the key trends in mutual fund and ETF distribution. Prior to that he was a personal finance reporter at the Telegraph in London, predominantly covering retail investing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Geography from University College London (UCL) and also studied at the University of Bonn/United Nations University in Germany.
