Meet the team

Paul McMillan
Managing editor

Before joining Fund Intelligence in June 2018, Paul McMillan was head of content across HFM Global, Pageant Media’s hedge fund titles based out of London, New York and Hong Kong. Prior to HFM, Paul was group editor at leading UK financial title Money Marketing and associated brands for five years. He has won several media awards, including personal finance journalist of the year and online personal finance article of the year.

Marissa Capodanno

Marissa Capodanno is the deputy head of content for the Fund Intelligence Group. She also edits FI's governance title, Fund Directions, covering issues relevant to mutual fund boards of directors. Prior to joining the team in June 2015, she wrote about asset-backed securities, peer-to-peer lending, and other consumer and commercial financing at Debtwire, part of the Mergermarket Group, and at Total Securitization, a Euromoney Institutional Investor publication. She earned a master’s degree in journalism from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish literature from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ben Sheng

Ben is a reporter for Fund Directions, where he covers mutual fund governance and regulatory issues from a board perspective. Prior to joining Fund Directions in 2018, he worked in financial public relations at Intermarket Communications. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University, where he wrote and edited for the Columbia Daily Spectator.

Peter Rawlings
Compliance Editor

Peter Rawlings has covered fund compliance and regulation for Fund Intelligence since 2013. Prior to that he was an editorial intern for Bloomberg News, where he covered the US corporate bond and credit default swap markets. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University.

Jason Bisnoff
Reporter

Jason joined Pageant Media in 2016 and covers the wealth management space as a senior reporter for Private Asset Management. He focuses on high net worth and ultra-high net worth investors as well as family offices. Previously, he covered financial and regulatory compliance for Compliance Reporter. Prior to working with the Fund Intelligence Group, he covered the automotive industry for the New York Daily News and worked as an editorial assistant at the International New York Times in Paris. He holds a master's degree in journalism from The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.

Rheaa Rao
Reporter

Rheaa joined Pageant Media's Fund Intelligence Group in July 2017 to cover investment decisions made by public pension plans, foundations and endowments. She was previously an intern at The Wall Street Journal's CFO Journal, where she reported about corporate finance and leadership changes. Julie Mansmann
Sales & Marketing Editor

Julie Mansmann is the editor of Fund Action, heading mutual fund and exchange-traded fund product development, marketing and sales strategy coverage. Prior to joining Fund Intelligence in 2017, she was the editor of several titles of the Herald Community Newspapers, where she covered politics, crime, education, business and the arts on Long Island. Her work has been recognized by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, the New York Press Association and the Press Club of Long Island.

James Connington
Distribution editor

James Connington joined Fund Intelligence as Distribution Editor in 2018, where he heads up coverage of the key trends in mutual fund and ETF distribution. Prior to that he was a personal finance reporter at the Telegraph in London, predominantly covering retail investing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Geography from University College London (UCL) and also studied at the University of Bonn/United Nations University in Germany.
